When my son was small, I didn't really have many issues with needing adapted clothing...... and then he turned, maybe 3? LOL He got the the age/size where they stop making "baby" stuff. Diapers became an issue because he was outgrowing the sz 6 (there was no sz 7 back then). It was become more difficult to find Onesies to fit him. Once you get past a size 4T/5T, they stop adding the extra room in pants to accomodate a diaper, so all his pants were to tight and too short in the rear rise (though about this time, carpenter jeans became really popular, so I did get lucky, but now with my daughter everything seems to be a super tight slim fit, I've not bought her a pair of store bought jeans in over year now, I can't get them over her hips!) They outgrew their Toddler size bibs. These are the issues I had. There are a plethera of other special needs when it come to clothing. Things such as shoes, coats made for wheelchair users, clothing and adaptations for gtubes, preemies, and much more.
There are also ways to adapt or alter store bought clothing to meet some needs, and of course if you are crafty (or would like to give it a whirl :-) you can sew your own! There are no good patterns for sale dealing with special needs clothing that I have found. I am considering saleing my patterns, but it's just in the "Something to Thing About" stage right now. :-) Please feel free to take a look at my blog and see if there are any tutorials that may aid you.
There are several online stores that you can order from. I do not receive any compensation from any of these links (unless noted), they are just sites that I have found either by search or by word of mouth. Of course if you would like to advertise on this site, feel free to contact me!! I do have my own store. I mostly specialize in bibs, not exactly by choice, but by demand! LOL I do occastionally sew CLOTHING, but I stay so busy with orders for bibs that is what I do most. Am I crazy to list all of my COMPETETORS here? LOL Maybe so, but I'm here to help you guys out, so here ya go! Please check out my store 1st!! Something Sew Special
